Subject: | Resolution – Honoring the individuals who lost their lives during the shooting at Planned Parenthood Center in Colorado Springs |
In the very near future, I intend to introduce a resolution honoring the individuals who lost their lives during the shooting at the Planned Parenthood center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on November 27, 2015. The morning of that day, an armed male, Robert Lewis Dear, opened fire taking the lives of two civilians and one law-enforcement officer, and also wounding nine individuals. The individuals that tragically lost their lives were Ke'Arre Stewart, Jennifer Markovsky, and Officer Garrett Swasey. Mr. Stewart, 29, an Army veteran who served in Iraq, was a father of two. Ms. Markovsky, 36, was a mother of two who grew up in Hawaii in the community of Waianae on Oahu. Officer Swasey, 44, was a six year police veteran of the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Campus, and was also a co-pastor at Hope Chapel, an evangelical church. Please join me in honoring these victims’ lives and extending our deepest condolences to their families and friends during their time of mourning. |
