Subject: | Resolution – Recognizing “National Nursing Home Week” in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the week of May 8 through 14, 2016, as “National Nursing Home Week” in Pennsylvania. The individuals residing in this Commonwealth’s nursing homes have contributed immeasurably to the heritage, success, and growth of our communities. These residents fought our wars, labored in our factories, and planted the seeds that built our strong communities. More than 81,000 Pennsylvanians, residing in over 700 nursing homes across the state, are a living testament to our history and a special treasure to our Commonwealth. This year, “National Nursing Home Week” is being observed May 8 through 14 and nursing homes across the state are holding events guided by this year’s national theme, “It’s a Small World, with a Big Heart.” This theme highlights the bond between staff, older adults, and individuals receiving therapies or with developmental disabilities. Please join me in honoring the residents of Pennsylvania’s nursing homes and showing appreciation to the staff that cares for them by recognizing “National Nursing Home Week.” |
