Subject: | Resolution recognizing the 75th anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol. |
Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution recognizing the 75th anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol. Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. In 1941 was created by an administrative order of the United States Director of Civilian Defense. It is a non-profit organization with 56,000 members nationwide and operates a fleet of 550 aircraft. CAP performs approximately 90% of continental United States inland search and rescue missions. CAP also provides emergency services, aerospace education and cadet programs. CAP received a Congressional Gold Medal in 2014 in honor of heroic efforts of its World War II veterans. Residents of this Commonwealth are encouraged to learn more about CAP and its long history of service. This resolution will pay tribute to them and thank them for their dedication, sacrifice and love of country. Thank you for considering this resolution. |
