Subject: | Resolution Recognizing the 100th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry |
In the near future, I intend to introduce a resolution commemorating the centennial anniversary of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry was founded on December 16, 1916 by a group of more than 100 business leaders from 35 cities across the Commonwealth, representing 50 local chambers of commerce, boards of trade and similar organizations. With more than 8,000 members statewide, the Chamber is the largest broad-based business association in the Commonwealth today. With membership comprised of thousands of businesses of all sizes and industry sectors, representing 50 percent of the private workforce, the Chamber continues to advocate for public policy items that will expand private sector job creation and lead to a more prosperous Pennsylvania for all. In 2015, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded the Chamber with a rating of Accredited with Distinction, one of only five state chambers to reach this momentous achievement. The accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures, sound policies, corporate citizenship and ability to advance their member businesses' legislative goals. Please join me in recognizing the vast achievements of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and celebrating their Centennial Anniversary. |
