Subject: | Issuing a Photo Card for Volunteers Who Have Passed a Background Check |
Dear Colleagues – I recently spoke with a constituent who suggested the state issue a photo id-style card to those who have passed a background check for volunteering. This would make compliance for individuals who volunteer with multiple organizations much easier. With this in mind, I will be introducing legislation that would permit, but not require, DHS to issue a volunteer card with a photograph to an individual who has received the necessary background clearance. An individual could elect to simply receive a paper clearance as is standard practice, or for a nominal additional fee could receive the photo card. Your support of this initiative would be welcome. |
