Subject: Resolution designating November as “Small Business Month” in Pennsylvania
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution honoring our small businesses by designating November as “Small Business Month” in Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth has a strong tradition supporting our small businesses as they partner with local citizens and community groups to be the backbone of our economy.

There are 999,591 small businesses in Pennsylvania which employ more than 2.4 million people (46.9% of the private workforce). These businesses also create about two out of every three new jobs in our country each year.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, we need to support our small businesses and thus designating the month of November as “Small Business Month” will strengthen our support of these businesses.

I hope you can join me in sponsoring this resolution.
