Subject: | Donated Services and Equipment Tax Credit Act |
I am reintroducing Senate Bill 268, enacting the Donated Services and Equipment Tax Credit Act. The legislation provides corporations with a tax credit for computer or other scientific equipment or services that they donate to colleges or schools. A corporation will receive a tax credit against its corporate net income tax of 50% of the value of the equipment or services donated. The purpose of this legislation is to encourage computer education and training in schools. The bill also complements the Information Technology Education Act (1993 Act 80), which promotes the expansion of regional computer resource centers to assist schools in developing the computer skills of their teachers and students. |
Introduced as SB138
