Subject: | First Responder Appreciation Week January 1st, 2016 to January 8th, 2016 |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that would honor Pennsylvanian first responders the week of Friday, January 1st, 2016 to Friday, January 8th, 2016. . Further, Pennsylvania will celebrate First Responder Appreciation Week each ensuing year during the first full week in January because there is no better time to remember and appreciate our true heroes not only in the Commonwealth but across the Nation. During the first week of the year, most of us will make personal New Year’s resolutions and goals for the upcoming year, but I also want to challenge Pennsylvanians to make a resolution to remember and appreciate our true heroes who lay their lives on the line for us every day. Police, fire, emergency medical service and public health personnel work tirelessly and selflessly on behalf of the people in this Commonwealth regardless of the dangers they may face. Please join me renewing our respect and gratitude at the beginning of each and every year for those that carry out the critical role of protecting and ensuring public safety for all of us.
