Subject: | Authorizing the Pittsburgh Parking Authority to Support Private Development |
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation which amends Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to authorize the Pittsburgh Parking Authority (PPA) to support private development. This is a companion bill to Sen. Vulakovich’s bill that he is reintroducing, former SB1351. This proposal permits the PPA to participate in the development of projects that support commercial, industrial, residential, or retail development. Participation in such mixed-use projects can help facilitate the development and stimulation of business, industry, and commerce within the City of Pittsburgh. Furthermore, the PPA has indicated their ability and willingness to engage in such transactions. Therefore, please consider co-sponsoring this proposal which supports redevelopment efforts as well as demand for parking in the City of Pittsburgh. I respectfully ask for your consideration. |
