Subject: | Designating March 2, 2017, as “Explore York County Tourism Day” |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating March 2, 2017, as “Explore York County Tourism Day” in Pennsylvania. According to the document, Economic Impact of Tourism in Pennsylvania, York County’s tourism industry generates over $900 million in traveler spending each year. This industry employs more than 7,530 people, and is ranked 10th in the state in economic impact from tourism. York County is known as the “Snack Food Capital of the World,” with several snack food manufacturers, including Utz Quality Foods and Martin's Potato Chips, operating in the county. In addition, the York County Mason-Dixon Wine Trail was named "One of the Best Wine Regions You've Never Heard of" by Budget Travel Online. I hope you will join me in sponsoring this resolution. |
