Subject: | Economic Development Liquor Licenses (Re-Introduction) |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation – House Bill 839 – that would raise the number of economic development liquor licenses allowed in each county of the first through fourth class from two to three. However, no one municipality would be able to receive more than two licenses. Under current law, counties of the first through fourth class may be awarded only two economic development licenses. As such, if the county contained two larger municipalities, one municipality could be awarded two licenses while the other is left with none. This legislation is designed to prevent conflict in counties containing multiple larger municipalities by making three licenses available in each county and ensuring that no one municipality can receive all available licenses. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
