Subject: | Resolution-Boy Scout & Cub Scout Sign-Up Week in Pennsylvania |
Join me as I introduce a resolution recognizing the week of September 11, 2017 as Boy Scout & Cub Scout Sign-Up Week in Pennsylvania. Recognizing that helping youth is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. I have also formed the Boy Scout Caucus in support of the youth development and moral character provided by Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Programs of the BSA encourage Scouts to live by the Scout Law, which states that a Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. For more than a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The BSA is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides programs for young people that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. Please consider co-sponsoring this resolution. Additional caucus membership information to follow in the days to come. |
