MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 19, 2018 10:01 AM
From: Representative Jack Rader, Jr.
To: All House members
Subject: Recognizing October 2018 as PA State Tax Collectors Month

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that recognizes the 60th Annual Convention of the PA State Tax Collector’s Association and recognizes October of 2018 as “Elected Tax Collectors Month” in Pennsylvania.

Tax collectors serve as a local connection between taxpayers and the responsive vision of the government of PA. They give one-on-one attention to citizens and serve an important role in the communities that elect them. They help many of our senior citizens and low-income citizens who may not be aware of the possible reductions in local taxes for which they could be eligible.

The PA State Tax Collector’s Association was founded in 1958 to represent tax collectors in PA, and they have been highly supportive of the State laws which govern tax collectors by promoting high ethical standards and professionalism. Annually, the PA State Tax Collector’s Association provides continued education and training for tax collectors to further their abilities to serve the Commonwealth’s citizens.

For these reasons, I believe it is important for the PA House of Representatives to honor the PA State Tax Collector’s Association and all PA elected tax collectors for their service by dedicating the month of October 2018 as “Elected Tax Collector’s Month” and by recognizing their 60th Annual Convention.

Please join me in recognizing October 2108 as “Elected Tax Collectors Month” in Pennsylvania.
