Subject: | Resolution recognizing October 2018 as “Special Needs Law Month” |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution recognizing October 2018 as “Special Needs Law Month” in Pennsylvania. It is extremely important for parents and siblings of individuals with special needs to plan for the financial future of their child or sibling after their death. Public benefits do not cover all of the basic living expenses of individuals with special needs, leaving them vulnerable to financial hardship should a supportive parent or sibling pass away. The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. has established October as “National Special Needs Law Month” in order to spread awareness of the resources available to individuals with special needs and their loved ones in planning their financial future. Please join us in co-sponsoring this important resolution to help inform individuals with special needs and their families of all of the options available to them to help ensure their lifelong wellbeing. |
