Subject: | Brain Tumor Awareness Month |
I plan to reintroduce a resolution recognizing May as Brain Tumor Awareness Month. The purpose of this resolution is to raise awareness and promote greater understanding of the disease. Currently, there are almost 700,000 people in the United States living with a brain tumor with nearly 80,000 new cases of primary brain tumors expected to be diagnosed this year. Some symptoms of brain tumors include headaches that do not resolve or reoccur, vision problems, difficulty with balance, hearing or speech, confusion, seizures and personality or behavior changes. I hope you will join me in raising awareness of this important matter. |
