Subject: | Civil Air Patrol - 70th Anniversary as the Official Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the 70th Anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol as the Official Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. The Civil Air Patrol has three Congressionally-chartered missions: Aerospace Education, Emergency Services (Search & Rescue, Disaster Relief, Drug Interdiction and Homeland Security), and Cadet Programs. Today, the Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol consists of more than 1,800 volunteers in 45 squadrons and six groups. The Civil Air Patrol fulfills its role as a member of the U.S. Air Force's Total Force through vital activities such as assisting with aerial intercept and unmanned aerial vehicle training, disaster relief aerial reconnaissance and search and rescue. Last year, SR 114 was sponsored by Senators Vulakovich, Costa, Argall, Aument, Baker, Bartolotta, Blake, Boscola, Brewster, Brooks, Browne, Dinniman, Farnese, Fontana, Greenleaf, Hughes, Hutchinson, Killion, Mensch, Rafferty, Reschenthaler, Sabatina, Vogel and Yudichak. |
