Subject: | Save Your Vision Month (March 2020) |
Across the country, an estimated 142 million Americans over 40 years of age experience vision problems, and between 8.2 million and 15.9 million people have a correctable refractive error. Despite growing information and awareness about eye health, many Pennsylvanians fail to schedule regular eye exams. With these individuals in mind, it is imperative that we take the time to foster greater discussion about poor ocular health in the Commonwealth as well as highlight medical services available in our local communities. Therefore, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing March 2020 as “Save Your Vision Month” in Pennsylvania. As stewards of public health, it is my hope that you will join me in this collective effort to further promote and protect the health and well-being of Pennsylvanians. Your consideration is greatly appreciated. |
