Subject: | Co-Sponsorship: Representatives Mary Isaacson and Tina Davis-Recognizing March 2020 as “National Women’s History Month” |
Throughout history, women have made tremendous progress on the road to equality. However, despite their many considerable achievements and advocation for a fairer and more balanced world, women continue to face imbalance. Women face adversity in many forms, be it through income disparities or through sexism and discrimination. Whether in the workplace or at home, women are subjected to stereotypes and gender inequality in some capacity. Despite all of these challenges, women have continued to advocate for equity while contributing to the growth of our society. Through their contributions, women have helped shape a more fair and just nation, and these achievements should not be overlooked or underappreciated. Every year, the month of March is designated as a time for us to honor the contributions to the betterment of society that American women have made throughout history. It is with these notable achievements in mind that we ask you to support our resolution recognizing March 2020 as “National Women’s History Month.” Please join us in this effort to acknowledge the impact women have had and will continue to have on our nation and the great state of Pennsylvania. |
