MEMORANDUM

Subject: COVID-19: Support for Frontline Workers

Over the past year, COVID-19 has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and is expected to claim many, many more. In response to this crisis, health care workers all across the state and country have stepped up to take care of those in need. These medical professionals and other essential employees are putting their health and their lives on the line day in and day out to save the lives of our loved ones.

Just as our health care workers have stepped up to take care of us in this time of need, we need to step up and do everything we can to take care of them. For this reason, I will be introducing legislation that will do the following:

  • Establish much needed supports and protections for frontline health care workers, many of whom are working long hours under extreme stress and personal hardship; and

  • Create a child care grant program for frontline health care workers to ensure they are able to afford high-quality child care as they work to save lives.

Please join me in supporting the heroes of this crisis who are putting their own lives at risk to save the lives of others in need.
