Subject: | Lessening Window Tinting Restrictions |
Pennsylvania has some of the most restrictive window tinting regulations in the nation, only seven other states have a threshold of 70% for the amount of visible light that must pass through a window. Most states have much more lenient restrictions and some have no restrictions at all. Moreover, our regulations are not uniform as it relates to rear windows for different vehicles – trucks and buses have no window tint restrictions for their rear windows. A citizen recently brought this to my attention, and I immediately came to appreciate the difficulty this can pose to individuals who face vision impairment due to light sensitivity. For this reason, I am introducing legislation to lessen window tinting restrictions in our state. My bill would remove window tinting restrictions for rear windows on all vehicles to modernize our laws, to make our laws uniform, and to help those with light sensitivity. I ask that you join me by supporting this legislation and help to improve our state’s window tinting laws. |
