MEMORANDUM

Posted: August 10, 2021 10:49 AM
From: Representative Milou Mackenzie
To: All House members
Subject: Litterbug Education

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation which will incorporate litterbug education into existing science curriculum for students in kindergarten – 5th grade. This education is crucial to give children the tools and education they need to create and sustain environmentally friendly habits. Littering is a behavior that is learned at a young age and can be hard to influence once the behavior is adopted, so starting in the early education years is critical. Litter effects every person in our community and this legislation strives to raise a new generation of environmentally cautious individuals, all while keeping our state beautiful.

Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation.
