Subject: | Medical Freedom for PA National Guard |
In the near future, we will be introducing legislation to ensure that members of the PA National Guard will not be required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. In August, the Department of Defense issued an order requiring full COVID-19 vaccination for all service members. The deadline for compliance for PA National Guard members is slated for June 30th, 2022. Oklahoma has become the first state to reassert its state authority and take a bold stand against the forced vaccination policy. The Adjutant General of the Oklahoma National Guard declared in a policy memo that the organization will not be enforcing the Defense Department’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on its troops. We are proposing legislation to ensure that members of the Pennsylvania National Guard will not be required to be vaccinated. The legislation will further state that no negative administrative or legal action may be taken against members of the guard who refuse COVID-19 vaccination. Our National Guard soldiers serve the Commonwealth in a vital capacity and stand ready to assist with disaster relief operations. We cannot afford to lose any of our force because of a misguided COVID-19 vaccination mandate. Please consider joining us as a co-sponsor.  |
