Subject: | AmeriCorps Week Resolution |
In the near future we will be introducing a resolution designating March 13 through March 19, 2022, as “AmeriCorps Week” in Pennsylvania. The AmeriCorps national service program engages Pennsylvanians of all ages and backgrounds in meeting a wide range of community needs. Last year, more than 11,500 Pennsylvania AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served at over 1,500 locations across the state, including schools, food banks, homeless shelters, health clinics, youth centers, veterans’ facilities, and other nonprofit and faith-based organizations. Participants worked with local partners to assist families impacted by COVID-19, reduce crime, revitalize cities, connect veterans to services, fight the opioid epidemic, help seniors live independently, and rebuild communities after natural disasters. Please join us in recognizing March 13 through March 19, 2022, as “AmeriCorps Week.” |
