MEMORANDUM

Posted: July 14, 2023 02:59 PM
From: Representative Seth M. Grove
To: All House members
Subject: Amending Title 27 ( Environmental Resources) - Waste trailer definition change

Getting government out of the way is an easy approach to give local businesses, especially those in the agriculture industry, the flexibility they need to thrive.  Commercial, “little farmers” are required to pay a Department of Environmental Protection permit fee for waste trailers with registered weight more than 10,000 pounds when dumping on their own land.

In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that will amend Title 27 (Environmental Resources), Chapter 62 (Waste Transportation Safety) that will increase the weight limit of waste trailers to give “little famers” in the Commonwealth relief from government bureaucracy.

Please join me as a co-sponsor of this important legislation.

Introduced as HB1611
