MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 3, 2024 04:19 PM
From: Representative Martina A. White
To: All House members
Subject: Child Learning Investment Tax Credit

Dear Colleagues,

In our continued commitment to supporting Pennsylvania families, we successfully expanded the childcare and dependent tax credit last year on a bipartisan basis. It’s time to extend our support further by addressing the financial challenges families face when they choose alternative educational paths for their children.

In the coming days, I plan to introduce a bill that will offer a tax credit up to $6,000 per child, per year, to cover educational expenses for children enrolled in non-public schools. This initiative aims to mitigate the financial strain on parents and caregivers, and acknowledges the rising costs of educational options that work best for students. By supporting this legislation, we can provide substantial relief to families and create educational opportunities for our children.

I look forward to your support in empowering Pennsylvania’s families and giving children access to more educational opportunities through this important initiative.

Introduced as HB2484
