; and making repeals
Amend Bill, page 6, line 22, by striking out all of said line
and inserting
Section 3. The following apply:
(1) The annual salaries under section 2.1 of the act of
September 30, 1983 (P.L.160, No.39), known as the Public
Official Compensation Law, may not be increased by an annual
cost-of-living adjustment under section 2.1(i) of the Public
Official Compensation Law for annual periods beginning after
the December 31 which first follows the effective date of
this section.
(2) The annual salaries for individuals subject to 42
Pa.C.S. § 1741(a)(1) or (2) may not be increased by a cost-
of-living adjustment under 42 Pa.C.S. § 1741(b) for annual
periods beginning after the December 31 which first follows
the effective date of this section.
(3) The annual salaries of the Governor and Lieutenant
Governor, the State Treasurer, the Auditor General, the
Attorney General and the heads of the departments and members
of boards and commissions under section 3 of the Public
Official Compensation Law may not be increased by an annual
cost-of-living adjustment under section 3(e) of the Public
Official Compensation Law for annual periods beginning after
the December 31 which first follows the effective date of
this section.
(4) The salary of the members of the General Assembly
may not be increased by an annual cost-of-living adjustment
under section 4(c) or (d) of the Public Official Compensation
Law for periods beginning after the November 30 which first
follows the effective date of this section.
(5) The additional compensation of the officers and
leaders of the General Assembly may not be increased by an
annual cost-of-living adjustment under section 4(c.1) and

(d.1) of the Public Official Compensation Law for periods
beginning after the November 30 which first follows the
effective date of this section.
Section 4. Repeals are as follows:
(1) The General Assembly declares that the repeal under
paragraph (2) is necessary to effectuate the addition of
section 3(1) and (2) of this act.
(2) Section 2.1(i) of the act of September 30, 1983
(P.L.160, No.39), known as the Public Official Compensation
Law, and 42 Pa.C.S. § 1741(b) are repealed insofar as they
are inconsistent with section 3(1) and (2) of this act.
(3) The General Assembly declares that the repeal under
paragraph (4) is necessary to effectuate the addition of
section 3(3) of this act.
(4) Section 3(e) of the Public Official Compensation Law
is repealed insofar as it is inconsistent with section 3(3)
of this act.
(5) The General Assembly declares that the repeal under
paragraph (6) is necessary to effectuate the addition of
section 3(4) and (5) of this act.
(6) Section 4(c), (c.1), (d) and (d.1) of the Public
Official Compensation Law are repealed insofar as they are
inconsistent with section 3(4) and (5) of this act.
Section 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
