HOUSE RESOLUTION

           GIGLIOTTI, FEBRUARY 2, 1999

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS,
           FEBRUARY 2, 1999

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing the United States Senate to vote on the Articles
     2     of Impeachment on or before February 12, 1999.

     3     WHEREAS, The Judiciary Committee of the United States House
     4  of Representatives presented four Articles of Impeachment to the
     5  United States Senate; and
     6     WHEREAS, The United States House of Representatives adopted
     7  two of the Articles of Impeachment presented by the Judiciary
     8  Committee; and
     9     WHEREAS, The United States Senate has undertaken its
    10  constitutional obligation to act on the Articles of Impeachment
    11  presented by the United States House of Representatives for the
    12  purpose of either removing the President of the United States
    13  from office or dismissing the Articles of Impeachment; and
    14     WHEREAS, The business of the United States and in particular
    15  the needs of the states are not being attended to by the
    16  Congress of the United States because of its immersion in the
    17  impeachment process; therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
     2  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the United States
     3  Senate to vote on the Articles of Impeachment by no later than
     4  February 12, 1999, and to make a final judgment on the Articles
     5  of Impeachment; and be it further
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
     7  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize its two United States
     8  Senators to call for a vote on the Articles of Impeachment no
     9  later than February 12, 1999; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
    11  the presiding officers of the United States Senate and to each
    12  senator from Pennsylvania.
