A RESOLUTION 1 Memorializing Congress to enact legislation establishing a 2 National Health Care Program. 3 WHEREAS, A key issue facing our nation today is the rising 4 number of Americans without health care insurance and the United 5 States is the only industrialized nation, except South Africa, 6 which does not offer its citizens health security; and 7 WHEREAS, The Department of Education and the Department of 8 Health and Human Services predicts that by the year 2000 the 9 direct costs of health care will be one trillion annually.
