        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY, JANUARY 30, 2007

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for unlawful
     3     disclosure of grand jury matters.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 4585.  Unlawful disclosure of grand jury matters.
     9     A person commits a felony of the first degree if the person
    10  knowingly discloses matters occurring before a grand jury,
    11  including testimony, with the intent to commit any of the
    12  following offenses:
    13         (1)  Under 18 Pa.C.S. (relating to crimes and offenses):
    14             Section 4952 (relating to intimidation of witnesses
    15         or victims).
    16             Section 4953 (relating to retaliation against
    17         witness, victim or party).


     1             Section 4953.1 (relating to retaliation against
     2         prosecutor or judicial official).
     3         (2)  Under this title:
     4             Section 4583 (relating to tampering with jurors).
     5             Section 4583.1 (relating to aggravated jury
     6         tampering).
     7     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
