A RESOLUTION
1 Urging the Department of Transportation to create a registration
2 plate that honors the American flag.
3 WHEREAS, Terrorists commandeered four commercial planes on
4 September 11, 2001, to commit a despicable act of terrorism; and
5 WHEREAS, People across the nation were moved by the tragedies
6 to display American flags to show their support for the families
7 affected by the attacks and to symbolize our national unity; and
8 WHEREAS, It is important that all Americans are reminded of
9 our commitment to freedom and equality embodied in the American
10 flag; therefore be it
11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the
12 Department of Transportation to create a registration plate to
13 honor the American flag.
