A RESOLUTION
Designating May 20, 2023, as "National Federation of Independent
Business Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The National Federation of Independent Business
(NFIB), the leading small business association in the United
States, is celebrating 80 years as the voice of small businesses
across the United States; and
WHEREAS, NFIB is the voice for 13,000 small businesses in
this Commonwealth and 300,000 small businesses across the United
States; and
WHEREAS, The vision of NFIB is to give small and independent
businesses a voice in governmental decision making through
policy advocacy; and
WHEREAS, The positions of NFIB originate from the democratic
polling of NFIB grassroots membership and reflect the actual
interests of small business owners; and
WHEREAS, As a result, the efforts of NFIB lead to the growth

of small businesses and job creation; and
WHEREAS, NFIB has been honored by United States presidents,
members of Congress, governors and other elected officials for
bringing an understanding of the critical issues facing small
business owners to policymakers; and
WHEREAS, NFIB offers dedicated advocacy in Congress and in
all 50 state capitols, represents small business interests in
the courts and produces vital economic data on small business
trends; and
WHEREAS, For 80 years, NFIB has relentlessly advanced its
mission to promote and protect the right of NFIB members to own,
operate and grow their businesses, and advocated that small
businesses are engines of job growth, the lifeblood of American
entrepreneurship and essential to the creation of a better
standard of living for all; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 20,
2023, as "National Federation of Independent Business Day" in
Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives celebrate the
National Federation of Independent Business for its
contributions to small businesses on its 80th anniversary.
