AN ACT 1 Authorizing the Department of General Services, with the 2 approval of the Governor, to grant and convey a tract of land 3 situated in the Borough of Canonsburg, Washington County. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Land in the Borough of Canonsburg, Washington 7 County. 8 (a) Authorization.--The Department of General Services, with 9 the approval of the Governor, is hereby authorized and directed 10 on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant and 11 convey the tract of land bounded and described in subsection (b) 12 at a price to be determined through competitive bidding. 13 (b) Description.--The property to be conveyed pursuant to 14 subsection (a) consists of approximately 3.109 acres and is more 15 particularly described as follows: 16 BEGINNING at The Northern-most corner of Parcel C in Strabane 17 Avenue, which lies South 74 degrees 02 minutes and 48 seconds 18 East 43.49 feet from a corner of Parcel B; thence along or near
1 Chartiers Creek, the following four courses: South 37 degrees 24 2 minutes 13 seconds East 90.51 feet; thence South 29 degrees 38 3 minutes 31 seconds East 169.71 feet to an iron pin; thence South 4 10 degrees 58 minutes 17 seconds East 107.79 feet; thence South 5 19 degrees 15 minutes 24 seconds East 127.23 feet to an iron pin 6 on other lands of the Department of Energy; thence along lands 7 of the Department of Energy South 78 degrees 31 minutes 00 8 seconds West 435.75 feet to an iron pin in Strabane Avenue, the 9 following four courses: North 5 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds 10 East 195.99 feet; thence North 21 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds 11 East 91.70 feet; thence North 30 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds 12 East 139.33 feet; thence North 39 degrees 05 minutes 00 seconds 13 East 168.20 feet to an iron pin and the place of beginning. 14 Containing 3.109 acres, more or less. 15 (c) Bidding.--Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 16 XXIV-A of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177, No.175), known as 17 The Administrative Code of 1929, the Department of General 18 Services shall, through sealed bids, sell the property to the 19 highest bidder. 20 (d) Easements.--The conveyance shall be made under and 21 subject to all lawful and enforceable easements, servitudes and 22 rights of others, including, but not confined to streets, 23 roadways and rights of any telephone, telegraph, water, 24 electric, gas or pipeline companies, as well as under and 25 subject to any lawful and enforceable estates or tenancies 26 vested in third persons appearing of record, for any portion of 27 the land or improvements erected thereon. 28 (e) Execution.--The deed of conveyance shall be by Special 29 Warranty Deed and shall be executed by the Secretary of General 30 Services in the name of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 20010H0062B0048 - 2 -
