A RESOLUTION 1 Designating the month of March 2007 as "Professional Social Work 2 Month" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, Social workers have the education and experience to 4 guide individuals, families and communities through complex 5 issues and choices; and 6 WHEREAS, Social workers connect individuals, families and 7 communities to available resources; and 8 WHEREAS, Social workers are dedicated to improving the 9 society in which we live; and 10 WHEREAS, Social workers are positive and compassionate 11 professionals who stand up for others by making sure every 12 individual has access to the same basic rights, protections and 13 opportunities; and
1 WHEREAS, Social workers assist people in helping themselves, 2 whenever and wherever they need it most; and 3 WHEREAS, Social workers have been the driving force behind 4 important social movements in the United States and abroad; 5 therefore be it 6 RESOLVED, That, in recognition of social workers and their 7 commitment and dedication to individuals, families and 8 communities everywhere through service delivery, research, 9 education and legislative advocacy, the House of Representatives 10 designate the month of March 2007 as "Professional Social Work 11 Month" in Pennsylvania and call upon all citizens to join with 12 the National Association of Social Workers, Pennsylvania 13 Chapter, in celebration and support of social workers and the 14 social work profession.
