        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, APRIL 25, 1989

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Directing the Education Committee to investigate the feasibility
     2     of having the Commonwealth pay the salaries of and provide
     3     benefits for public school teachers.

     4     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives direct the
     5  Education Committee to investigate the feasibility of having the
     6  Commonwealth pay the salaries of and provide benefits for public
     7  school teachers; and be it further
     8     RESOLVED, That the committee may hold hearings, take
     9  testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems
    10  necessary in this Commonwealth. Each member of the committee
    11  shall have power to administer oaths and affirmations to
    12  witnesses appearing before the committee; and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That the committee make a report of its findings
    14  and recommendations to the House of Representatives as soon as
    15  possible.
