        INTRODUCED BY PETRONE, DeLUCA, FEE, TRELLO, DOMBROWSKI,
           JADLOWIEC, BLACK AND TELEK, MAY 1, 1989

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, MAY 1, 1989

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Directing the Consumer Affairs Committee of the House of
     2     Representatives to investigate price increases in oil and
     3     gas.

     4     WHEREAS, The prices paid for oil and gas are of critical
     5  importance to industry, commerce and consumers in this
     6  Commonwealth; and
     7     WHEREAS, These prices have been increasing recently; and
     8     WHEREAS, There might be some action which the Commonwealth
     9  could take to control these increases; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the Consumer Affairs Committee of the House of
    11  Representatives conduct an investigation of the prices of oil
    12  and gas paid in this Commonwealth and of possible legislative
    13  and executive action to control these prices; and be it further
    14     RESOLVED, That the committee may hold hearings, take
    15  testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems
    16  necessary in this Commonwealth and that each member of the
    17  committee shall have power to administer oaths and affirmations
    18  to witnesses appearing before the committee; and be it further

     1     RESOLVED, That the committee shall report to the House of
     2  Representatives on its activities, findings and recommendations
     3  by October 1, 1989, and shall issue interim reports to the House
     4  of Representatives as the committee deems necessary.
