                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging Congress to use any and all means at its disposal to
     2     reduce the home heating burden that high gas and electrical
     3     costs have placed on Pennsylvania residents during the
     4     present fuel price crisis.

     5     WHEREAS, The costs of home heating gas and electrical energy
     6  have risen disproportionately in the Commonwealth of
     7  Pennsylvania compared to many other states and have created a
     8  home heating crisis; and
     9     WHEREAS, Working families in this Commonwealth should not be
    10  forced to choose between heating their homes and life's other
    11  basic necessities; and
    12     WHEREAS, Hundreds of thousands of homeowners and renters will
    13  see additional increases in the cost of heating their homes or
    14  apartments unless action is taken to halt the current trend; and
    15     WHEREAS, These increases affect not only Pennsylvania's


     1  families but Pennsylvania's economy; therefore be it
     2     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
     3  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge the Congress of the United
     4  States to use any and all resources at its disposal to reduce
     5  the burden that high gas and electrical home heating costs have
     6  placed on Pennsylvania residents during the present home heating
     7  price crisis.
