        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 19, 1999

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring that May 9 through 15, 1999, be observed as "National
     2     Nursing Home Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Skilled nursing facilities throughout the nation are
     4  observing "National Nursing Home Week"; and
     5     WHEREAS, The dedicated professionals who work in nursing
     6  homes provide critical services in the continuum of long-term
     7  care for many citizens of this Commonwealth; and
     8     WHEREAS, It is appropriate that Commonwealth nursing homes
     9  join the nation to observe "National Nursing Home Week";
    10  therefore be it
    11     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare that May


     1  9 through 15, 1999, be observed as "National Nursing Home Week"
     2  in Pennsylvania and urge all citizens to join in recognizing the
     3  significant contributions of nursing facilities and caregivers
     4  in this Commonwealth and beyond.
