        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 3, 2001

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring April 2001 as "National Auctioneers Month" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Auctions of real and personal property are a
     4  beneficial marketing tool in the United States and the world;
     5  and
     6     WHEREAS, The National Auctioneers Association's members
     7  endeavor to foster free enterprise; and
     8     WHEREAS, Association members tirelessly support their
     9  communities and local businesses through the conduct of
    10  auctions, promotion of charitable causes and otherwise; and
    11     WHEREAS, The National Auctioneers Association works
    12  diligently to fulfill a $2 million pledge to help disease-
    13  stricken children treated at St. Jude Children's Research
    14  Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee; therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare April
     2  2001 as "National Auctioneers Month" in Pennsylvania in
     3  recognition of the charitable and commercial contributions made
     4  by auctioneers.
