INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, MARCH 15, 2005
A RESOLUTION 1 Extending condolences to the family of Leon H. Reed, Jr., a 2 dedicated public servant of this Commonwealth. 3 WHEREAS, Leon H. Reed, Jr., passed away at the age of 82 on 4 January 29, 2005; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Reed served our country during World War II and 6 the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Armed 7 Forces; and 8 WHEREAS, A retired mechanical contractor, Mr. Reed was a 9 member of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for nearly 10 19 years, first appointed by Governor Dick Thornburgh in July 11 1986 to represent the commission's Seventh District comprising 12 Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne 13 and Wyoming Counties; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Reed, who was president of the commission from 15 July 1988 through July 1989, served with great dedication and 16 earned recognition for his Statewide perspective and his advice 17 and counsel; and
1 WHEREAS, Mr. Reed was actively involved in the Wayne County 2 Sportsmen's Association, the Wayne County Trap Club, the 3 Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs and the Old Buck 4 Hunting Club; additionally, he served in Ducks Unlimited as a 5 hunter education instructor for 40 years; therefore be it 6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives express its 7 sorrow for the passing of Leon H. Reed, Jr., and extend 8 heartfelt condolences to his family; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to 10 the family of Leon H.
