AN ACT 1 Amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, No.69), entitled, as 2 reenacted and amended, "An act concerning townships of the 3 second class; and amending, revising, consolidating and 4 changing the law relating thereto," further providing FOR <-- 5 SUPERVISORS AND for auditor's compensation. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. Section 902 of the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, <-- 9 No.69), known as The Second Class Township Code, reenacted and 10 amended November 9, 1995 (P.L.350, No.60), is amended to read: 11 SECTION 1. SECTION 403 OF THE ACT OF MAY 1, 1933 (P.L.103, <-- 12 NO.69), KNOWN AS THE SECOND CLASS TOWNSHIP CODE, REENACTED AND 13 AMENDED NOVEMBER 9, 1995 (P.L.350, NO.60), IS AMENDED BY ADDING 14 A SUBSECTION TO READ: 15 SECTION 403. SUPERVISORS.--* * * 16 (D) IN THE EVENT THAT THERE CONCURRENTLY EXIST TWO OR MORE 17 OPENINGS FOR THE POSITION OF TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR, A PERSON SHALL
1 BE INELIGIBLE TO SEEK NOMINATION OR ELECTION TO FILL MORE THAN 2 ONE SUCH OPENING. 3 SECTION 2. SECTION 902 OF THE ACT IS AMENDED TO READ: 4 Section 902. Auditor's Compensation.--(a) Each auditor 5 shall receive [seven dollars ($7)] ten dollars ($10) for each 6 hour necessarily employed in the duties of the office upon 7 presentation to the board of supervisors of an itemized listing 8 of the dates, times, places and hours worked to perform the 9 audit. No auditor in a township having a population of ten 10 thousand or less is entitled to receive more than [seven hundred 11 dollars ($700)] one thousand dollars ($1,000) for completing the 12 annual audit, settlement and adjustment. No auditor in a 13 township having a population in excess of ten thousand is 14 entitled to receive more than [fourteen hundred dollars 15 ($1,400)] two thousand dollars ($2,000) for completing the 16 annual audit, settlement and adjustment. 17 (b) In addition to the time actually used by the board of 18 auditors to complete the audit, settlement and adjustment, each 19 auditor may be compensated at the rate of [seven dollars ($7)] 20 ten dollars ($10) each hour for not more than fifty hours to 21 audit the accounts of any public official who handles public 22 funds when a vacancy occurs in the office of the public 23 official. 24 (c) Each auditor shall be reimbursed for travel costs 25 incurred in the performance of the auditing duties at the rate 26 established by the board of supervisors under the act of July 27 20, 1979 (P.L.156, No.51), referred to as the Uniform Mileage 28 Fee Law, and for other expenses, including postage, notary fees 29 or publication costs, incurred during the audit. 30 Section 2 3.
