                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Directing the House Committee on Federal-State Relations to
     2     investigate the possibility of placing a veterans' home at
     3     the South Mountain Restoration Center.

     4     WHEREAS, The South Mountain Restoration Center, a beautiful
     5  facility located in southern Franklin County, has existed under
     6  the Department of Public Welfare for several years; and
     7     WHEREAS, There are several vacant buildings in the Center at
     8  present time, and the number of clients has declined over the
     9  past several years; and
    10     WHEREAS, It may be desirable to locate a new veterans' home
    11  utilizing the vacant buildings at the Center; therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives direct the House
    13  Committee on Federal-State Relations to investigate the
    14  possibility of placing a veterans' home at the South Mountain
    15  Restoration Center; and be it further
    16     RESOLVED, That the committee may hold hearings, take
    17  testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems
    18  necessary in this Commonwealth. Each member of the committee

     1  shall have power to administer oaths and affirmations to
     2  witnesses appearing before the committee; and be it further
     3     RESOLVED, That the committee shall report to the House of
     4  Representatives on its activities, findings and recommendations
     5  in 90 days.
