                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating October 19, 1987, as "Rural and Small Libraries
     2     Recognition Day."

     3     WHEREAS, Rural and small libraries represent the majority of
     4  libraries in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
     5     WHEREAS, Rural and small libraries respond to the information
     6  needs of Pennsylvanians by providing centers of community
     7  information; and
     8     WHEREAS, Rural and small libraries protect the constitutional
     9  freedoms of Pennsylvanians by providing free access to ideas;
    10  therefore be it
    11     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    12  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania designate October 19, 1987, as
    13  "Rural and Small Libraries Recognition Day" in Pennsylvania.
