                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of April 20 through 26, 2003, as "Medical
     2     Laboratory Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Professionals who practice in the medical
     4  laboratory, including pathologists, medical technologists,
     5  cytotechnologists, chemistry technologists, histotechnologists,
     6  medical laboratory technicians, histologic technicians,
     7  phlebotomists and laboratory administrators, are invaluable
     8  members of a patient's health care team; and
     9     WHEREAS, These well-educated and highly trained health
    10  professionals perform and evaluate medical laboratory tests to
    11  detect, diagnose, monitor treatment and help prevent diseases,
    12  saving countless lives each day; and


     1     WHEREAS, Their dedication to quality medical testing and
     2  exceptional patient care is demonstrated daily in thousands of
     3  medical laboratories; and
     4     WHEREAS, Laboratory medicine is an honorable profession and
     5  is vital to sustaining a high standard of health care; therefore
     6  be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
     8  week of April 20 through 26, 2003, as "Medical Laboratory Week"
     9  in Pennsylvania.
