AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of August 21, 1953 (P.L.1323, No.373), entitled
2"An act concerning notaries public; and amending, revising,
3consolidating and changing the law relating thereto," further
4providing for application to become a notary public.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1.  Section 5 of the act of August 21, 1953
8(P.L.1323, No.373), known as The Notary Public Law, is amended
9by adding a subsection to read:

10Section 5.  Application to Become a Notary Public.--* * *

11(e)  A licensed attorney must complete and submit the
12prescribed application, submit the non-refundable filing fee, be
13of good moral character and submit proof of being a licensed
14attorney in good standing with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. A
15licensed attorney is exempt from all other requirements for a
16notary license specified in this section.

17Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
