AN ACT
1 Amending Title 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, including parole and probation agents
3 employed by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole
4 within the definition of "correction officer" for retirement
5 purposes.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The definition of "correction officer" in section
9 5102 of Title 71 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
10 amended to read:
11 § 5102. Definitions.
12 The following words and phrases as used in this part, unless
13 a different meaning is plainly required by the context, shall
14 have the following meanings:

16 "Correction officer." Any employee whose principal duty is
17 the care, custody and control of inmates of a penal or
18 correctional institution or community treatment center operated
19 by the Bureau of Correction. The term also includes parole and
1 probation agents employed by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation
2 and Parole.

4 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
