INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, JANUARY 28, 1998
A RESOLUTION 1 Declaring July 27, 1998, as "Korean War Veterans Armistice Day" 2 in Pennsylvania and urging all government agencies and 3 citizens to fly the American flag at half staff on July 27, 4 1998, in honor of those Americans who died as a result of 5 their service to the United States in the Korean War. 6 WHEREAS, The United States was engaged in the Korean War 7 during June 1950 through January 1955; and 8 WHEREAS, The Korean War cost the lives of 54,246 Americans, 9 and 8,177 Americans are still listed as missing in action; and 10 WHEREAS, It is appropriate to remember the sacrifice made by 11 those Americans in the service to their country and to raise
1 awareness of the Korean War; therefore be it 2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare July 27, 3 1998, as "Korean War Veterans Armistice Day" in Pennsylvania; 4 and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That all government agencies and citizens of this 6 Commonwealth fly the American flag at half staff on July 27, 7 1998, in honor of those Americans who died as a result of their 8 service to the United States in the Korean War.
