                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for driving too fast for
     3     conditions.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3361 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 3361.  Driving [vehicle at safe speed] too fast for
     9             conditions.
    10     No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is
    11  reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to
    12  the actual and potential hazards then existing, nor at a speed
    13  greater than will permit the driver to bring his vehicle to a
    14  stop within the assured clear distance ahead. Consistent with
    15  the foregoing, every person shall drive at a safe and
    16  appropriate speed when approaching and crossing an intersection
    17  or railroad grade crossing, when approaching and going around a
    18  curve, when approaching a hill crest, when traveling upon any

     1  narrow or winding roadway and when special hazards exist with
     2  respect to pedestrians or other traffic or by reason of weather
     3  or highway conditions.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
