AN ACT 1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An 2 act relating to the public school system, including certain 3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial 4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the 5 laws relating thereto," providing for the use of certain 6 funds which are not the funds of the school district. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 511(d) of the act of March 10, 1949 10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, 11 amended April 14, 1949 (P.L.460, No.85), is amended to read: 12 Section 511. School Athletics, Publications, and 13 Organizations.-- 14 * * * 15 (d) Notwithstanding the use of school property or personnel, 16 it shall be lawful for any school or any class or any 17 organization, club, society, or group thereof, to raise, expend, 18 or hold funds, including balances carried over from year to
1 year, in its own name and under its own management, under the 2 supervision of the principal or other professional employe of 3 the school district designated by the board. Such funds shall 4 not be the funds of the school district but shall remain the 5 property of the respective school, class, organization, club, 6 society, or group for its use for educational activities and 7 goals including class reunions. The treasurer or custodian of 8 such funds shall furnish to the school district a proper bond, 9 in such amount and with such surety or sureties as the board 10 shall approve, conditioned upon the faithful performance of his 11 duties as treasurer or custodian. The premium of such bond, if 12 any, shall be paid from the fund or funds secured thereby or 13 from the funds of the school district, at the discretion of the 14 board. The treasurer or custodian shall be required to maintain 15 an accounting system approved by the board, shall deposit the 16 funds in a depository approved by the board, shall submit a 17 financial statement to the board quarterly or oftener, at the 18 direction of the board, and shall submit the accounts to be 19 audited in like manner as the accounts of the school district. 20 * * * 21 Section 2.
