        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 29, 2001

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of November 2001 as "Home Care Month" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Home care is a vital health care service available
     4  to citizens of this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, Home care services are given to patients regardless
     6  of their race, religion, nationality or ability to pay; and
     7     WHEREAS, Home care services enable patients to be treated at
     8  home, thereby keeping family members together; and
     9     WHEREAS, Home care fosters more rapid recovery, earlier
    10  hospital discharge and reduced admissions to institutions; and

     1     WHEREAS, Most persons prefer to remain with their families in
     2  the comfort and security of their homes; and
     3     WHEREAS, The number and variety of treatments and therapies
     4  available to patients in their homes is increasing; and
     5     WHEREAS, There is growing evidence that home care is an
     6  economical means of treating patients; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim November
     8  2001 as "Home Care Month" in Pennsylvania and urge the citizens
     9  of this Commonwealth to recognize and appreciate the valuable
    10  service provided by home care agencies.
