INTRODUCED BY JAROLIN, STISH, RUDY, GEORGE, HASAY, McCALL,
BELFANTI, MAINE, BLAUM, STUBAN, DIETTERICK, STEIGHNER, TIGUE
           AND CAWLEY, JUNE 25, 1990

REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JUNE 25, 1990

                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

1 Memorializing President Bush to conduct an aerial satellite
2 survey of the forests in this country to determine gypsy moth
     3 damage.

4 Several million acres of land have been defoliated by the
5 gypsy moth throughout the United States and in Pennsylvania; and
6 The negative effects of gypsy moth infestation are well
7 known, however, the full extent of damage is not clear; and
8 In order to more accurately ascertain the full degree of
9 defoliation which has occurred throughout Pennsylvania and the
10 nation, it is necessary to utilize the technological resources
11 available to the United States government; therefore be it
12 RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
13 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the President of
14 the United States to utilize equipment and resources at his
15 disposal to conduct an aerial satellite survey of the forests of
16 this country both to determine the level of damage done by gypsy
17 moths and to furnish each state with the satellite photos and
18 other pertinent information; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be delivered to each
2 of Pennsylvania's 25 members of Congress and its two senators.
